Croeso i Dosbarth Acorn. Here, Miss. Welch and Mrs. Lewis will teach pupils in Dosbarth Acorn, along side Mrs. Kelly and Sandra and Jackie.

In our topic The World of Small Wonders, we will be learning all about tiny creatures called mini-beasts!
We will go outside to explore and see what we can find, such as ants, snails and ladybirds. We will look very closely at them and watch how they move and where they live. We might use magnifying glasses and cameras to help us see more details.
We will learn that mini-beasts live in different places called habitats. Some like dark, damp places (like woodlice), and some like being near flowers (like bees). This helps us understand how animals live and what they need to survive.
We will also learn how mini-beasts grow and change. For example, we will find out how a caterpillar turns into a butterfly!
As part of our learning, we will be studying our whole school book, Hike. This is a wordless book, which means there are no words! We will use the pictures to tell the story, share our ideas, and use our imaginations.
As we learn, we will:
ask questions
look closely and observe
sort and compare different mini-beasts
share our ideas by talking, drawing and taking photos
