Our topic this term is

Urban Pioneers

What are we learning about?

Our topic has an overarching Humanities themes, where we will be exploring our local community and how it has changed over time. We will focus on the buildings, businesses and changes which have happened-past, present and future. Additionally, we will compare our local community to Urban life to identify the similarities and differences. We will also explore the work of Welsh Urban artists and famous Architects.

In Literacy we are learning how to write various genres including, poetry riddles and a letter recount. We will focus on fronted adverbials and rhyming words as well as continuing to focus on punctuation.

In Numeracy we will look at money- Making different amounts of money, working out the correct change, budgeting, and rounding. We will also look at measuring shadows, interpreting data, shapes and symmetry.

Key information

Swimming will be on a Wednesday during the Spring term.
Homework and reading books will be given out on a Friday and will need to be returned to school by Tuesday.
Water and fruit can be brought into school for snack.
Please ensure all items of clothing are labelled with names.
