Our topic this term is
'Who am I and Where do I belong'
What are we learning about?
This term, we will be digging into our values and identity, as well as exploring our roots, community and culture. We will begin the topic with an Immersion Day, and before the end of the topic we will invite parents/carers into school for a celebration of learning event.
In addition to our topic we will be focussing on developing pupils individual targets, identified through teacher assessment and termly reading, comprehension, spelling and maths assessments. In Laurel we will also be focussing on improving reading skills in line with Welsh Government guidance and developing pupils independence and resilience.
Key information
- PE will take place during Autumn term each Thursday.
- Reading books will need to be brought to school daily- Please read with your child as often as possible.
- Spelling words will be sent home on a Friday, please help your child to learn these. They will be tested on the words every Friday.
- Homework will be given out on a Friday and will need to be returned to school by Tuesday.
- Water (or sugar free squash) and fruit can be brought into school for snack- please label these.
- Please ensure all items of clothing are labelled with names.
