Our topic this term is

'Playlist'

What are we learning about?

This term, our Expressive Arts topic is Playlist – an exciting and creative journey through the world of music, art, and drama. Children will explore a wide range of musical genres, from classical to contemporary, jazz to world music, discovering how different styles influence mood, movement, and expression.

They will have opportunities to create their own songs, design and build simple instruments, and learn about artists whose work is inspired by music. Through drama and performance, children will explore storytelling through sound, rhythm, and movement, while in art, they will respond to music visually, using colour and texture to represent emotion and energy.

This topic is all about self-expression, creativity, and broadening cultural understanding – a truly immersive experience that celebrates the power of the arts to connect, inspire, and communicate.
